General
What is the minimum order?
We work from USD 1,000 of goods. In addition, each factory has its own minimum order quantity (MOQ), which we state in the quote.
Do I need to be a registered importer?
To import goods in your name and resell them, yes: you must be registered as an importer with ARCA. If you already are, we manage the purchase so you import in your own name. For those who are not registered we are validating a turnkey option; ask us and we'll tell you when it will be available.
How long does an import take?
It depends on production, the means of transport and customs clearance. As a reference, sea transit usually takes 45 to 60 days from the moment the goods leave the factory, and air freight 7 to 15 days. Each quote includes an estimated lead time, which is not a guaranteed one.
How is payment made?
It depends on the option and the agreement with the supplier. In the managed purchase, you pay for the goods directly to the supplier through authorized channels, and SYT IMPORTS invoices and collects its fees according to the contract. Deposits, milestones, beneficiaries, payment methods and dates are put in writing for each operation.
Prices and costs
Can the quoted price change?
During its validity period we honor the quoted amounts. They may change for external reasons: the official exchange rate, changes in regulations, tariffs or taxes, freight rates or unforeseen customs costs, or changes you request to the product or quantity. In that case we let you know before moving forward and present the updated quote; you decide whether to continue.
What's the difference between EXW, FOB and CIF?
They are Incoterms, international rules that define how far the seller pays and is responsible. EXW: the goods are collected at the factory. FOB: the seller delivers them loaded on the ship at the port of origin. CIF: in addition, the seller pays freight and insurance to the port of destination. In Argentina, taxes are calculated on the customs value, which includes freight and insurance.
What taxes does an import pay?
Import duties (depending on the tariff classification), statistics fee, VAT and VAT, income tax and gross income withholdings. Some are a cost and others are credits or advance payments depending on your tax situation. Your accountant can confirm which ones you can credit.
Does the calculator give me the exact cost?
No. It's an estimate based on the assumptions you enter. The actual tariff depends on the product's tariff classification, and taxes on your tax situation. The cost of your operation comes in the quote.
Suppliers and quality
How do you know the factory is real?
We review its business license, declared certifications and capacity. Depending on the service, we do a video call with a plant tour or arrange a visit or a third-party inspection.
What if the goods don't arrive in good condition?
That's why we inspect before shipping: if something doesn't match what was agreed in writing, it's resolved with the factory before it ships. The terms of each operation are in the agreement.
Can I put my brand on it?
Yes, if the manufacturer accepts. It usually requires a higher minimum quantity and a branded sample for approval. We recommend registering the trademark with INPI.
Customs and logistics
Can I bring it by courier to resell?
No. Courier is for personal use: a USD 400 FOB allowance per shipment, a USD 3,000 cap, up to 5 shipments per year and up to 3 identical units (Decree 604/2026 and RG ARCA 5884/2026). Reselling requires a formal import.
What is the tariff classification (NCM)?
It's the code that classifies your product in the Mercosur Common Nomenclature. The tariff, requirements and agency approvals depend on it. The customs broker defines it with the product's technical information.
Can I bring in home appliances?
Yes. We ask that the product be 220 V / 50 Hz and review the certifications it needs to be sold in Argentina, such as electrical safety.
Sea or air: which is better?
Sea is cheaper for medium and large volumes; air is faster and suits light, urgent or high-value cargo. The calculator lets you compare both scenarios.
